The Guarantee
The REIGA guarantee lasts for 10 years and
is for a maximum claim of £10,000
for domestic installations.
Commercial installations will be
subject to separate claim amounts.
You will receive a guarantee
certificate shortly after the installation
is completed.You should keep this
safely in case of the unlikely event of
you needing to contact us. By deciding
to use a renewable energy device
guaranteed by REIGA you are
helping to reduce our reliance on
fossil fuels and the resultant damage
to our EARTH. REIGA will provide
the comfort of knowing that the
excellent product is backed by a
first class installation guarantee and
additionally REIGA is itself protected
by independent insurance backing.
Conditions
REIGA require the customer to have
used a REIGA member to install the
renewable energy device and that
any servicing is also carried out by a
REIGA member. Decerno is an approved member and can be found on our website
Why was REIGA set up
REIGA stands for the Renewable Energy
Installation Guarantee Agency and is a
non-profit organisation set up by the
renewable energy market to provide
a body to monitor and maintain high
standards amongst those installers
and suppliers who are members. It also
has a role in providing an independent
guarantee relating to the installation
of renewable energy devices. The
customers for such devices are not
reliant on the installers themselves
guaranteeing the installation as REIGA
offers a 10 year guarantee backed by
its entire membership. REIGA aims
for prevention rather than cure by
ensuring that manufacturers and
installers meet the highest standards
before they are allowed to be members.
Who is backing REIGA
REIGA is backed by the
manufacturers and installers within
the renewable energy market and
is therefore independent of and
outside the control of any single
manufacturer or installer.
How the guarantee scheme works
REIGA is paid a fee for each
installation by its members and
will issue to each customer a
guarantee (subject to terms
and conditions) relating to the
installation.Where a problem is
reported to them, they will assist in
resolving it. If the issue is not resolved
to their satisfaction they will engage
another installer to rectify the problem
at no cost to the customer within
the guarantee period. REIGA will only
do this for customers of registered
installers so before you buy a renewable
energy product make sure it will
be installed by a registered installer
displaying the independent REIGA
assurance mark!
If you have a problem
As with most problems it is often
best resolved by contacting the
original installer first. If this fails to
resolve the problem or the original
installer no longer exists and it
relates to the installation of a
renewable energy product installed
by a REIGA member, contact us by
email at admin@reiga.org.uk or on
0845 390 2390 and provide details.
We will then liaise with the installer
to resolve the problem or if the
installer no longer exists,we
will arrange for the problem
to be investigated and where
appropriate, repairs to be
undertaken at our expense.
